Meet John O’Sullivan - Founder of Wave Case

Get To Know John

With a background in business, accountancy and finance John had a lot of directions he could have taken his career. Combining his expertise with his passion for green living, he founded the sustainable phone case company, Wave, to continue to use his skillset for a purpose.

Experience and Accreditations

Achieving a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Northumbria University, John later studied an MSc in Finance, Accounting and Strategic Investment at Newcastle University to further his financial expertise. His career saw him take on roles in auditing and Corporate Finance positions, advising large companies financially and understanding the impact of business investment.

The charitable sector is also an important part of John’s career timeline, with him taking on the role of Trustee for local charity, PFC Trust.

All of this led to starting Wave with his best friend, bringing their complementary business skills together to champion their passion for sustainability.

Hear from John

With both an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in understanding financial investment, I wanted to do something that invested in my skills and invested in our planet, too. Wave does all of this, allowing me to continue to learn about what money can do for sustainability and vice versa in a niche that provides a product to consumers and businesses alike.

Outside of the day-to-day, I enjoy unwinding at the gym and taking my dog, Ronnie, out along the beach in Hartlepool a meaningful place to myself and co-founder, Ross, which inspired Wave’s branding.

I’m excited for what Wave can continue to do for sustainability and what more we can continue to learn as experts in the field to make for a greener future.
